Ringgold woman arrested for cruelty to animals after dumping cats out in Walker County

According to a Walker County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On October 27th, 2022, at 5:49 PM, Deputy Kirby responded to 445 Schmidt Road in reference to a female “dumping cats” on the side of the roadway. The witness who called 911 gave a detailed description of the vehicle with a tag number along with the female who was dumping the cats. The witness stated he made the “red-headed female” pick the cats back up and put them back in her vehicle. The witness said once he got her stopped, she picked all but a few of them back up and drove off. The caller stated before she picked them all up, she attempted to leave them abandoned on the side of the road and drive off, almost running over multiple cats until he made her stop the vehicle, scaring the cats. Deputy Kirby attempted to catch the cats that was left behind, but the cats took off through the woods. Deputy Kirby reported, “[I] will be taking warrants on the suspect (Lindsey Marie Cordell, 28, of Ringgold) for cruelty to animals due to the abandonment she did. On June 16th, 2023, Cordell was arrested in Catoosa County and booked into jail. Walker County Deputy Young responded to the Catoosa County Jail and picked up Cordell on her outstanding arrest warrant #W22110028 for cruelty to animals. Cordell was transported to the Walker County Jail, charged with cruelty to animals.
