Wanted Rome man arrested after high-speed chase Wednesday night in Floyd County

The pursuit started when a Floyd County PD officer stopped a Red Town and Country van for speeding 72MPH in a 55MPH zone. The van pulled over and the officer ran the driver Steven John Lemming license which showed Lemming had multiple warrants out of Floyd and Bartow County. Lemming then took off at a high rate of speed. Lemming is being charged with multiple charges including aggravated assault, speeding in excess of maximum limits (x5), stop sign violation, driving on wrong side of roadway, reckless driving (x2), possession of cocaine, crossing state/county guard lines with weapons, intoxicants, drugs without consent willful obstruction of law enforcement officers - misdemeanor (x2) failure to obey traffic-control devices (x3) fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer (x2) stop sign violation, driving on wrong side of roadway, additional hold for Bartow County Sheriff's Office felony and warrant: probation warrant issued by Floyd County, GA probation violation (when probation terms are altered) - felony).
