Walker County Sheriff Deputy who shot and killed K-9 parter arrested, resigns
A Walker County Sheriffs deputy has resigned after being arrested for criminal trespass (family violence). Former Sheriff K-9 Deputy Corey Lee Griffin, 40 of a LaFayette address turned himself into the Walker County Jail last month on a criminal trespass (family violence) warrant issued by the GBI. According to an incident report, on August 17 Griffin is accused of criminal trespass after he forced his way into his then girlfriend’s house drunk and damaged the door. Nothing physical happened between them according to the incident report. Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said Griffin’s resignation is not related the death of his K-9 partner Rocky and was related to the criminal trespass arrest. Griffin was forced to shoot Rocky, back in July he attacked Griffin during a search warrant and arrest at a Chickamauga address on June 6th.
