Vehicle catches fire on Highway 114 last month while heading to auto shop in Summerville

The Chattoogaville, Holland, Lyerly Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to Highway. 114 near the Alabama State Line after a white 2012 Ford Edge burned on Sept. 24 around 6:30 p.m. The vehicle belonged to Susan Boarders. Deputy Nicole Sprague stated in the report “I spoke with the driver of the vehicle Susan Border’s who advised she was traveling East on Highway 114 taking her vehicle to the shop in Summerville when she noticed smoke. She pulled over and got out of the vehicle and then it caught on fire very quickly. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire however, it was totally burned."
