Two people injured in Saturday morning crash on I-24 in Dade County

In a crash report obtained from The Georgia State Patrol a 2005 Honda LX driven Shelby Brooke Atchley, 17, of Trenton and a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Courtney Emery, 24, of Norris City, IL were both traveling east on I-24 around 9:36 A.M. on March 30. The driver of the Honda was attempting to change lane to the left when her vehicle struck the Chevrolet Trailblazer in the right front. The Honda then rotated counter-clockwise off the roadway into the median. The Honda then overturned coming to rest onto its right side in the left westbound lane of I-24 facing north. The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer lost control, rotated counter- clockwise off the roadway into the median. The Trailblazer then overturned, coming to rest on its left side in westbound lane of I-24 facing west.

The driver of the Honda was cited for improper lane change. She was injured and taken to Erlanger by EMS. The driver of Chevrolet Trailblazer was also injured and was taken to Erlanger by EMS. Pictures from a follower
