Two injured, one airlifted to Erlanger after two vessels collided in Floyd County Tuesday night

According to Georgia DNR Just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2019, Georgia DNR Game Wardens responded to the scene of a boating incident on the Coosa River in Floyd County at Brushy Branch. The preliminary investigation indicates that two vessels traveling in opposite directions on the river collided. One individual was flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga with possible serious injuries. Another person was transported to Floyd Medical Center and has been released. It does not appear that alcohol was involved in the incident. DNR will continue the investigation that will likely take several weeks to complete
