Two from Chatsworth seriously injured after truck runs red light causing crash in Whitfield County
According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Sunday, May 10th, 2020, at around 7:58 PM a 2016 Honda Ridgeline being driven by Marty Woods, 45 of Cleveland, TN, was driving north on GA 3. 2005 Harley Davidson FLHTCE2 being driven by Jeremy Reid 43 of Chatsworth, was traveling east on Airport Road. The traffic light for Honda Ridgeline's lane of travel was red. The traffic light for Harley Davidson's lane of travel was green. The Harley Davidson struck the Honda Ridgeline on the driver side door with the front of the Harley Davidson. The Honda Ridgeline came to an uncontrolled rest slightly north of the intersection facing west. The Harley Davidson came to an uncontrolled rest in the intersection facing west. Woods advised he was unsure of what happened, but saw an object moving towards him just before the impact. Reid advised while crossing the intersection the Honda Ridgeline drove in front of him. Multiple witnesses advised that the Honda Ridgeline did not stop at the red light. Both Reid and his 14-year-old son a passenger on were seriously injured. They were transported to Hamilton Medical center in Dalton by Hamilton EMS. Woods was issued a citation for running the red light.
