Two drivers cited after being injured in two-vehicle crash in Walker County Thursday afternoon
According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Thursday, July 23rd, 2020, at around 3:55 PM, a 1998 Dodge Dakota being driven by David Jackson, 67 of Flintstone, was traveling west on Ivey Street. A 2005 GMC Yukon being driven by Samuel Marsh, 55 of Chattanooga, TN, was traveling north on GA 1. Jackson failed to yield right of way to the GMC Yukon, after stopping at a marked stop sign. Jackson was making a left turn onto GA 1. Marsh attempted to avoid collision with the Dodge by abruptly turning left, to no avail. The Dodge made contact with the GMC Yukon in the center turn lane of GA 1. The Dodge came to a final rest, facing west off the roadway. The GMC Yukon came to a final rest, facing west in the southbound lanes of GA 1. The area of impact was determined using gouge marks, tire marks, and vehicle property damage. Both drivers were injured in the crash and transported by Puckett EMS to Erlanger in Chattanooga. Jackson was charged with failing to yield. Marsh was charged with no insurance and driving while license is suspended or revoked.
