Two arrested after law enforcement witness drug transaction in Mount Vernon Mills parking lot
On Wednesday, March 20, 2019 Trion Investigator Dexter Blackmon and LMDTF Deputy Commander Caine Railey were in the area of the parking lot at Mt. Vernon Mills. Both Investigator Blackmon and Deputy Commander Railey observed a drug transaction between the two suspects according to the press release. The first suspect (Kenneth Wooten) left the scene in a pickup truck and was stopped by Trion Investigator Blackmon. Drug Agent Railey got out with the other suspect (David Reese). Upon further investigation, Inv. Blackmon located an amount of methamphetamine in the vehicle that had left the scene. Railey located four firearms inside the truck that belonged to Reese. Both suspects were placed under arrest. Those arrested were included David Reese, 61, of North Elizabeth Street, in Summerville, sale of methamphetamine, x4 possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, crossing a guard line with drugs and obstruction of an officer.
Kenneth Wooten, 58, of Blowing Springs Road, in Menlo, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, sale of marijuana and possession of meth.
