Truck stolen out of driveway in Whitfield County located at Gordon County apartments
According to a Whitfield County Sheriff's Office incident report, on Monday, April 20th, 2020, a Whitfield County detective was dispatched to an address on Brookstone Circle in reference to a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, the detective made contact with the owner. The owner stated his black 2017 Toyota Tacoma was stolen between the hours of 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM. The detective advised the report will be left active for detectives to follow up. The vehicle was entered into N.C.I.C as stolen. According to a Gordon County Sheriff's Office incident report, on Friday, April 24th, 2020, at approximately 9:29 PM A deputy and sergeant with the Gordon County Sheriff's Office Uniform Patrol Division responded to 1386 U.S. Highway 41 North (Pine Ridge Apartments) Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia in reference to locating a possible stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the caller, who stated that she had been on Facebook when she noticed a post on Northwest Georgia Scanner with a Black in color Toyota Tacoma that looked very similar to the one sitting in the parking lot where she resided. She stated that she went outside and looked over the vehicle and, upon seeing the Georgia tag number, realized that the vehicle she was looking at was, in fact, the same vehicle that had been posted. She stated that she contacted Gordon 911 and advised them of the situation. The deputy verified the last five digits of the Vehicle Identification Number with Gordon 911 and was advised that was a match, and they would confirm. The Sgt. contacted the owner, who stated that he would pick the vehicle up. Sgt. contacted Whitfield County Sheriff's Office and advised them. The Sgt. advised the owner that he could take his vehicle and if he did find anything, not his to turn it in with WCSO.
