Trooper uninjured after crashing patrol vehicle while responding to assist another officer
According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report on May 5th, 2020, around 5:11 PM, a 2018 Dodge Charger, a marked Georgia State Patrol vehicle with emergency blue lights and siren activated, being driven by GSP CPL Curtis was traveling east on GA 3 responding to another officer in need of help. The trooper lost control of his patrol vehicle and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The patrol vehicle entered the wooded area and struck a tree with its front left. The patrol vehicle continued and struck a tree with its left rear quarter panel. Due to that impact, The patrol vehicle was forced to rotate counterclockwise. The patrol vehicle struck a tree with its front and came to a final uncontrolled rest facing south off the roadway down an embankment. The incident was video recorded on the troopers in car dashcam. The trooper was not injured in the crash. The report stated the patrol vehicle was total loss and that it was raining at the time of the crash.
