Trenton business owner arrested by the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force Thursday

On Thursday, March 28, 2019, Agents with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, Trenton Police Department and Dade County Sheriff Office executed a search warrant at “The Shop By Stevie and The Moon”, located at 5010 Highway 136, Trenton, GA. L.M.J.C.D.T.F. acting on numerous complainants of the business possibly selling marijuana to the public and teenage adolescences, an investigation was started. L.M.J.C.D.T.F. conducted control purchases of suspected “bud” marijuana from the business. The results of the control buys yielded positive results for marijuana. Arrested was the store owner, Steven R. Ellis (37 y/o) of Trenton, GA. Ellis was charged with Distribution of a control substance, Possession of schedule 1 and Probation violation. In the store during the execution of the search warrant was Tony C. Pyburn (30y/o) of Chattanooga, TN. Pyburn was arrested on outstanding felony warrants in Bradley County, TN and Sequatchie County, TN. The investigation is still ongoing and other possible arrests are pending. As a hot topic of CBD and medical THC oil are legal to consume and use in the State of Georgia, This is not case in this investigation, as leafy-bud material was package for resale to the public. L.M.J.C.D.T.F. urges anyone using or wanting to use CBD to please research the product before using to verify the actual product is legal. There are many mislabeled products on the market containing controlled substances.
