Tractor-trailer leaves scene after causing crash on I-75 in Gordon County Tuesday, teenager injured

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020, at around 12:35 PM, a blue tractor-trailer was traveling south on I-75 near 308 in the middle lane. A 2002 Subaru Forester being driven by a 17-year-old from Calhoun was traveling south on I-75 in the right lane. A 2012 Freightliner, being driven by David Rosenbalm, 46 of Tazewell, Tennessee, was traveling south on I-75 in the middle lane behind the tractor-trailer. Rosenbalm stated that the blue tractor-trailer traveled into the right lane. The Subaru Forester traveled off the west side of the roadway. The teenager attempted to regain control of her vehicle and traveled back onto I-75 Southbound into the middle lane. The Freightliner struck the left rear of the Subaru Forester with the front right side of the Freightliner. After impact, the Subaru Forester traveled off the west shoulder, striking a guard rail with the front of the Subaru Forester. The area of impact was in the middle lane on I-75 Southbound. The driver of the blue tractor-trailer left the scene. The teenager was injured in the crash and transported by EMS to Advent. (Contributed photo)
