Teenager airlifted after being struck by vehicle while on Lawnmower last week in Chattooga County
According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report on Thursday, July 11th around 10:50 A.M. a Murray Lawnmower being driven by a Teenager (17) of Menlo address was traveling eastbound on Gordon Lane. A 2007 Honda Accord being driven by Leslie Behringer, 53, of a Cloudland address was traveling northbound on GA 157. According to the crash report the teenager failed to stop or yield to traffic before attempting to turn left onto GA 157. The lawnmower pulled out in front on the Honda, causing the Honda to struck the front right side of lawnmower. After impact, the Honda pushed the lawnmower approximately 25 feet before both the vehicle and the Lawnmower came to an uncontrolled rest. Area of impact was in the northbound lane of GA 157, determined by roadway evidence and driver of the Honda's statements. The teenager was seriously injured in the crash and transported by LifeForce to Erlanger Medical Center, in Chattanooga. You can also read more in this weeks edition of The Summerville News.
