Suspect arrested after pursuit from Whitfield County ends in Murray County

Shawn Anthony Long, 30 was charged by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with probation violation, driving while license is suspended or revoked, fleeing/ attempting to elude police officer, felony, passing in no-passing zones, failure to maintain lane, operate vehicle while reg is suspended/revoked/cancel and view obstructed; windshields & windshield wiper violation.
Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office was in a high speed vehicle pursuit on Highway 286 Tuesday afternoon. The suspect crashed near the Murray County line and was arrested after being bit by a law enforcement K-9. Murray County Sheriff’s Office, Murray County Fire Department and Murray County EMS is on scene. Suspect was transported by Whitfield County EMS to Hamilton Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. We will have further information as it becomes available.
