Suspect arrested after escaping from Chattooga County Sheriff's Deputies twice

20-year-old Jimmy “Jauan” Adams was arrested Saturday by The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department after he bolted from the back of a sheriff’s patrol car Monday and fled on foot from deputies Friday. On Monday of this week Adams who was not in handcuffs bolted from the back of a sheriff's patrol vehicle at the Chattooga County Jail after being involved in a domestic dispute in Menlo. Adams was being charged with a misdemeanor battery charge. Adams ran through downtown Summerville eluding capture. On Friday morning, Chief Deputy Kevin Woods received a tip that Adams sleeping in the woods off McWhorter Road in Menlo. I brief struggle ensued between Adams and Deputy Woods. Adams was able to get lose leading Deputies on a foot pursuit where he made an escape. Adams faces a list of charges we will further information once it is released.
