Summerville men injured in crash Saturday night in Chattooga County
Two Summerville men were injured a crash on Harrisburg Road around 11:18 p.m. on Saturday, according to a Georgia State Patrol crash report. Ross Landon Palmer, 34, was driving a gray Nissan Murano traveling northbound on Harrisburg road, negotiating a curve to the left. The Nissan crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the roadway. Palmer overcorrected, turning back to the right, losing control traveling off the right side of the roadway. The Nissan impacted a ditch with its left side overturning and coming to final rest off the east side of the roadway. The crash injured Palmer and 26-year-old Jacob Wofford, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Palmer was transported by Redmond EMS to Redmond Medical Center. Palmer was charged by Trooper Scoggins with failure to maintain lane and driving while suspended. Trooper Scoggins reported, "Due to the driver's injuries sustained from the crash and the COVID-19 national emergency, the suspect was issued citations and told to appear at his court date." The report also stated both occupants were not wearing seat belts during the crash.
