Stolen gun from Walker County found during Adairsville traffic stop

December 14th, 2018, Officer Kevin Hernandez of the Adairsville Police Department conducted a traffic stop due to driving with no headlights. Officer Hernandez noticed immediately that both the driver and passenger were extremely nervous in addition to the fact he could smell a strong odor of Marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. Once Officer Tyler Ware arrived as a back-up the vehicle was searched. Marijuana was found along with a Hi-Point pistol which was found to be stolen out of Walker County Georgia. Mr. Larry Kirby age 19, and Mr. Steven Hensley age 31 were arrested and booked into the Bartow County jail Kirby was charged misdemeanor possession of marijuana Hensley was charged with multiple charges.
