Ranger woman charged with DUI following crash in Calhoun Monday morning
Calhoun Police have charged 26 year-old Jessica Lynn Barrett of Ranger with DUI, Hit and Run, and Failure to Maintain Lane after a Monday morning accident on South Wall Street near Oak Street at about 11:15 am, that sent her to Erlanger via Life Force with severe injuries. An incident report from Calhoun Police stated that Officers at the scene found two cans of aerosol dust remover, both open with lipstick matching Barrett's around the straw of the can. Police added that Barrett had been involved in another accident near Firehouse Subs about an hour prior. The report went on to reveal she had also struck a speed limit sign near a used car lot across from Wells Fargo on South Wall Street, just minutes before she left the road at Oak and South Wall and struck a tree. Once she is released from the hospital, Barrett will be booked into the Gordon County Jail to await bond proceedings on the charges filed against her.
