Pursuit of stolen vehicle ends in fatal crash Saturday morning in Adairsville

According to the Georgia State Patrol at about 9:14 AM Saturday, a trooper attempted to stop a Stolen 2015 Mini Cooper on Interstate 75 in Gordon County for speeding 95MPH. The driver failed to stop leading the trooper on a high-speed chase. The chase took exit 312 and got back on I-75 southbound. The chase exited the interstate at 310, heading south on US 41 toward Bartow. The chase reached speeds over 110MPH on Highway 41. The stolen Mini Copper ran the red light at Highway 140 in the City of Adairsville. The Mini struck a gray 2015 Buick Verano on the driver side, the driver Angela Walker Townsend, 55, of Adairsville was killed. A silver 1998 Dodge Durango was also struck, the driver, Vanessa Stovall 34, of Talking Rock, Ga was taken to Gordon Hospital by private vehicle for treatment of minor head and shoulder injuries The driver of the stolen Mini Cooper, Christopher Tyler Parker, 20, of Blountsville, Ala., was arrested and is being charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude, felony vehicular homicide, felony receiving stolen property and felony bringing stolen property across state lines.
