Pickens County pursuit of wanted felon ends with successful PIT maneuver and meth arrest

According to the Pickens County Sheriff's Office At approximately 2:45P.M. Tuesday, A deputy ran the tag of a vehicle that returned with the driver, Joseph David Haynes, having an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. As Deputy Esparza attempted to stop the vehicle, Mr. Haynes proceeded to flee. Following a brief pursuit, Deputy Sigman conducted a Pit maneuver to end the risk of danger to other drivers. Following the PIT, both Mr. Haynes and his passenger, Larry Kevin Davis, were found with suspected methamphetamine. Mr. Haynes has been charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, Stop Sign Violation, Red Light violation, Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving while Unlicensed, Fleeing & Attempting to Elude, Reckless Driving, Open Container, and the original Felony Probation Warrant.
