Ooltewah woman facing drug and DUI charges after crashing into church Monday in Walker County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report on Monday, June, 10th around 9:24 A.M. a 2017 Nissan Rogue being driven by Amy Casteel, 40 of an Ooltewah Tennessee address was traveling north on East Broometown Road. The Nissan Rouge left the roadway on the left shoulder striking a guide wire to a telephone pole and then struck Mt Carmel United Methodist Church on its left corner with the front of the Nissan Rogue. Casteel told the investigating trooper that she had dozed off before she crashed. Casteel was transported by Puckett EMS to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Casteel is facing several charges including failure to maintain lane, DUI-driving under the influence of multiple substances, purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of controlled substances or marijuana, drug-related objects and driver to exercise due care; proper use of radios and mobile telephones allowed.
