New Orleans man arrested on several charges after crash on I-75 in Catoosa County Sunday

According to the Georgia State Patrol: "On June 14, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Vehicles #1 (2008 Ford F450) being driven by Franklin Castillo-Turcios, age 34 of New Orleans, LA, and #2 (2015 Nissan Pathfinder) being driven by Timothy Kovath, age 43 of Wentzville, MO, were traveling north on I-75. The Ford F450 was in the left lane and the Nissan Pathfinder was in the middle lane. Castillo-Turcios failed to maintain his lane of travel and drifted into the middle lane. The Ford's front right wheel struck the Pathfinder in the left side. Both drivers pulled off the next exit and waited for the investigating Trooper to arrive. Castillo-Turcios advised that he drifted into the middle lane and struck the Pathfinder. All four occupants in the Pathfinder, a family from Missouri were not injuired. Franklin Castillo-Turcios was not injured. He was charged with the following:

  • Truck Over 6 Wheels Must Stay in the Two Right Lanes

  • Failure to Maintain Lane

  • Possession of Open Container in Vehicle Passenger Area

  • Driving While Unlicensed

  • Purchase, Possess or Have Control of Controlled Substance in Schedule I or Narcotic in Schedule II
