Motorcyclist killed in crash while attempting to flee from trooper in Whitfield County Sunday

The Georgia State Patrol says a 21-year-old was killed Sunday evening while attempting to elude a Georgia State Patrol Trooper on the North Bypass in Whitfield County. The trooper attempted to stop a 2015 Harley Davidson being driven by 21-year-old Wyatt Lee Green of North Carolina address around 7:00P.M. on the North Bypass. Green was allegedly driving "reckless" weaving in and out of traffic and failed to yield to the trooper near Maddox Chapel Road where he crashed shortly after. According to reports the trooper used a channelization technique to stop the Harley. According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety channelization is a tactic used to redirect the direction of a pursuit. The trooper would use the patrol vehicle to chan ge the direction of the pursuit without making any contact. The Georgia State Patrol says no contact was made between the Harley Davidson in patrol vehicle. Green was killed in the crash after his Harley crashed down an embankment and rolled. The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is investigating the crash. According friends, Green was United States Marine who had just returned home from being deployed.
