Mother and kids lose everything in early Tuesday morning house fire in Lyerly

Summerville Fire Department, along with the Lyerly Fire Department, was dispatched to 816 Smith Rail Raod Tuesday morning around 2:27 AM to a report of an electrical fire. Dispatch advised an appliance was popping and smoking. According to a post on Facebook from the homeowner, it was the furnace. At around 2:32 AM Lyerly Fire Department Pumper 6 responded to the scene. They advised they were on scene at 2:39 AM and to canceled Summerville Fire Department. At 3:07 AM They advised they had visible flames underneath the house. At 3:33 AM Menlo Fire Department was paged for manpower. Shortly after, flames began shooting out the roof with heavy smoke coming out of the house. According to the family, a family dog and cat perished in the fire. According to the family, an account has been set up at United community bank in Summerville. The American Red Cross was contacted to help the family. The double wide mobile home is said to be a total loss.
