Three teens now in custody after high-speed chase Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon in Whitfield

What started as high-speed chase ended in a manhunt Tuesday afternoon. Several agencies including Whitfield County Sheriff's Office, Motor Carrier Compliance Division Region, Georgia State Patrol, GSP SWAT and Aviation was involved in the pursuit and manhunt. GSP Public Information Director said around 1:00 PM Tuesday afternoon an unmarked Whitfield County unit was behind a 2017 Audi Q5 traveling at a high rate of speed and driving recklessly on I-75 southbound. The Whitfield County Sheriff's Office unit waited for a marked unit to initiate a traffic stop. A GSP trooper made contact with the vehicle clocking it at 87 mph in a 70 mph zone. The trooper attempted a traffic but the vehicle failed to yield and starting a chase. The Audi Q5 got off on exit 315 before turning around and heading north on I-75 and driving up to exit 328. The Audi Q5 headed east on GA-52, and while trying to turn onto GA-3 sideswiped several vehicles. The driver then lost control and crashed. Three suspects inside the vehicle took off on foot. Troopers and Deputies were able to quickly chase after them on foot and arrest the driver and one passenger, but didn't locate a second passenger. Georgia State Patrol SWAT units and Georgia State Patrol Aviation responded to assist with the search. Officials said they were unable to find the passenger. Authorities learned the Audi Q5 was stolen and had been stolen in Chattanooga sometime between Monday and earlier Tuesday. They also found a stolen weapon in the vehicle. The driver Laderron Freeman, 18 of Chattanooga was booked in on charges of theft by taking (stolen vehicle); felony fleeing and attempting to elude; speeding; reckless driving; possession of stolen firearm; possession of firearm during a commission of a felony; obstruction; as well as additional pursuit related charges. The passenger Martinez Emanuel Billups, 17of Chattanooga was booked on charges of possession of stolen firearm; possession of stolen vehicle; possession of firearm during a commission of a felony The second passenger who escaped Tuesday was taken into custody Wednesday after another high speed chase in truck that he stole from a funeral home. This suspect is 16 years of age so his name cannot be released. He faces charges of possession of stolen firearm; possession of stolen vehicle; possession of firearm during a commission of a felony; obstruction
