Man facing DUI charge after Monday morning crash in Chattooga County seriously injures passenger

A 54-year-old man facing DUI charges after Monday morning crash in Chattooga County injuries passenger. Chattooga County E911 received the call of the crash near the county line around 6:30 A.M.. Chattooga County Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol, Teloga Volunteer Fire Department, and Redmond EMS responded to the crash. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 1992 GMC being driven by Donald Williams Hulsey, 54 of Forsyth, Georgia was traveling north on Center Post Road. Husley was driving under the influence of drugs and failed to maintain his lane. The GMC traveled off the east shoulder of Centerpost Road, striking a tree and fence with the front of the GMC. Area of impact was on the east shoulder of Center Post Road, as determined by final rest of The GMC, tire marks, and damage to the fence and tree. The GMC came to rest partially in the northbound lane of Center Post Road, facing east. The passenger William Wesson, 26 if Summerville was seriously injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital in Rome. Hulsey, the driver was taken to Redmond EMS station 12 in Summerville for a blood draw and transported to Chattooga County Jail on charges of DUI driving under the influence of drugs, failure to maintain single lane and serious injury by vehicle.
