Huntsville man crashes after falling asleep while driving on Highway 48 in Chattooga County

According to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office a 28-year-old Huntsville driver fell asleep on Highway 48 during his trip from Rome to Alabama Thursday, May 7th, 2020 shortly before 2:50 AM. The man fell asleep near the Menlo ballfields and crashed his silver SUV into the wooded area. He was transported to a local hospital in Rome by Redmond EMS with minor injuries.
