While running on foot Hicks threw a black and orange backpack containing a .40 caliber handgun, felony drugs and drug-related objects, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Hicks was charged with felony fleeing, felony possession of a controlled substance, and felony possession of a firearm during certain crimes.
