GSP looking for driver involved in fatal hit-and-run on Cloud Springs Road Tuesday night

The Fort Oglethorpe Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol are requesting the public's assistance in locating a driver suspected of striking a pedestrian and leaving the scene of the accident. On March 24, 2020, Tuesday, at approximately 8:40 p.m., a pedestrian was walking in the 1800 block of Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, when he was struck by a passing vehicle. The pedestrian, a white, male, in his mid 50's died as a result of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle briefly stopped after striking the pedestrian, got out of their vehicle and observed the injured male, then left the scene of the accident. The name of the deceased victim is not being released at this time. The Fort Oglethorpe Police contacted the Georgia State Patrol to investigate the accident. Georgia State Patrol Investigators received a description of the fleeing driver and the vehicle and would like to ask help from citizens in identifying and locating the offender. The suspect driver is described as a white, female, 35 to 40 years of age, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, with brown shoulder length hair. The suspect vehicle is described as gold or silver passenger car, possibly a Toyota or Nissan. The vehicle should have some level of damage to the front.
