Georgia State Patrol investigating fatal I-24 crash that killed two Monday morning in Dade County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report On Monday Oct. 21, at approximately 10:30 AM, a trooper was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on I-24 West at mile marker 168 in Dade County. According to the report a 1997 Acura TL being driven by Joe Owen Armbrust, 83 of Little Rock, Arkansas was traveling west on I-24 and was negotiating a curve to the right. Armburst lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway on the east shoulder and began traveling across a large grass median before striking an embankment and rolling onto its top coming to a final uncontrolled rest. The driver Armburst and passenger Dorothy Armbrust, 85 also of Little Rock, Arkansas were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Dade County Coroner. According to the report there were no witnesses to the crash.
Previous: On Monday October 21st, at approximately 10:15am, Dade County Units were dispatched to the 2 mile marker on Interstate 24 West, for a single vehicle accident. Dade Units arrived on scene and found that the vehicle had rolled over numerous times in the median, and had extensive entrapment of the 2 occupants inside. After extrication of the 2 occupants was completed, it was found that both occupants were deceased. Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident, and what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash, is currently unknown. The victims should be identified by Georgia State Patrol, once the next of kin has been notified.
