Georgia State patrol investigating after a Plainville man was struck by a vehicle Monday morning
According to preliminary reports from the Georgia State Patrol Post 43 in Calhoun, 43-year-old Brandon Bishop, of Plainville, stopped to help a motorist who’s vehicle was on fire on Highway 53 (Rome Road) near Weber Road just before 7A.M. While assisting with the vehicle fire, a 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage, being driven by 58-year-old Linda Ford, of Calhoun, struck Mr. Bishop. According to the investigating Trooper, says there are different stories on what exactly took place: a witness told the Trooper that Bishop was not any where near roadway when he was struck by Ford. Ford however says that Bishop was in the roadway and had actually jumped out in front of her vehicle when she struck him. Bishop was taken to Floyd Medical Center by Gordon EMS with what is said to be serious injuries. Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the crash and says no charges have been filed yet. When firefighters arrived on scene the vehicle that was on fire was completely engulfed. We will have further information once it is released.
