Fort Oglethorpe pair caught shoplifting from Walmart in Dalton

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff's Office incident report, on August 17th, 2020, at around 6:47 PM, a deputy was dispatched to Walmart located at 2545 East Walnut Avenue in reference to a shoplifting in progress. While en route dispatch was advising, there was a male, James Blevins, 29 and a female, Stephanie Barbarello, 31 both of Fort Oglethorpe who were together the male now at the customer service returning stolen property. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with loss prevention, who stated James and Stephanie were observed taking items and concealing them. James then went to customer service and began returning stolen items. The deputy and the loss prevention associate made contact with James and Stephanie, escorting them to the loss prevention office. At the office, they discovered that James had been banned from all Walmart properties as he has been charged with shoplifting from Walmart earlier this year. The deputy took James and Stephanie into custody, transporting them to the Whitfield County Jail charged with shoplifting. James was also charged with criminal trespass.
