Firefighters quickly extinguish suspicious house fire in LaFayette Monday evening

LaFayette Fire Department extinguishes suspicious house fire quickly Monday evening. LaFayette Police Department, LaFayette Fire Engine 24 and 25 along with Company 8 (Walker Prison) responded to 505 North 2nd Street around 7:10P.M. to a reported structure fire with flames showing. Once on scene they advised the structure was around 40% involved. Firefighters made quick knock down on the fire and extinguished it shortly after arriving. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated and is unknown at this time. The house was said to be vacant, though some neighbors reported possible squatters staying inside. We will have further as it is released.
