Female airlifted following three vehicle crash in Floyd County Tuesday morning
According to the Georgia State Trooper Lee Bowden, a 2012 Ford Fiesta being driven by 22-year-old Sara Overbey of Griffin Georgia was traveling west on Lovell Street toward Highway 27 shortly after 7:00A.M. Tuesday morning. According to multiple witnesses, Overbey failed to stop at the stop sign, entering onto Highway 27 where she was struck in the driver’s side door by a 2010 Jeep Wrangler being driven by 28-year-old Hayden Jennings of Rome. The Fiesta then continued on across Highway 27 and struck a southbound 2014 Chevy Silverado driven by 30-year-old Corey Dowdy. Overbey was seriously injured and was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Jennings did suffer some minor injuries during the crash as well. The investigation into the wreck continues and charges are pending against Overbey.
