Fatal crash on I-75 in Gordon County

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Chevrolet Cobalt, being driven by 28-year-old Cody Lovingood, of Calhoun Georgia, was traveling southbound in the left hand lane shortly before 6:00A.M. when he lost control of his Cobalt, spun out and came to rest facing northbound in the same lane. A Chevrolet Silverado driven by a by Baltazar Aguilera, of Kentucky was traveling behind Lovingood, struck Lovingood‘s Cobalt head on, pushing it off the roadway where both vehicles came to a uncontrolled rest. Mr. Lovingood was pronounced dead on arrival. No charges are expected in this crash according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Prevouis: Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal two vehicle crash Tuesday morning on I-75 southbound just south of the Resaca Rest Area near mile marker 319 in Gordon County. Gordon County SO, Gordon County Fire Department and Gordon County EMS responded to the two vehicle crash just before 6:00A.M. Tuesday morning. I-75 is completely shutdown at the moment. We will have further information once it is released.
