Fatal Crash On I-24 In Dade County

The Georgia State Patrol has identified the driver who was killed in the crash on I-24 near the Wildwood Exit in Dade County on Friday. The GSP has identified the driver as 32-year-old Ramiro Delgado from Roswell, Georgia.
On November 9th, at approximately 2:30pm, Dade County Deputies were dispatched to Interstate 24 West at the Highway 299 overpass, in reference to a head-on collision.Dade County Deputies, along with GSP, arrived on scene and observed that the accident was involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck.
Preliminary reports suggest that the driver of the white pickup truck was traveling East on I-24, crossed the median, and struck the tractor-trailer head-on. The driver of the pickup truck was found to be deceased on scene
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by Georgia State Patrol, and traffic was disrupted for hours. Sheriff Cross wants to thank ALL agencies that came out to assist with this accident, the road closure, and the cleanup.
Sheriff Cross also wants to give a very special thanks to myTDOT , for being one of the first on scene, staying throughout the incident, and sending more help to sand the roadway, without even being asked to do so.
Sheriff Cross was quoted as saying, "TDOT workers are the kind of people that don't care about a state line, when it comes to saving lives!"
Previous: Avoid the area of I-24 westbound at exit 169 in Dade County reports of a fatal two vehicle head-on crash. Dade SO, Georgia State Patrol, Dade County Fire Department and EMS is currently on Scene. Georgia State Patrol is on scene investigating the crash. I-24 westbound is completely shutdown and will be for a while. We will further information once it is released.
