Driver cited after falling asleep and crashing last month in Chattooga County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report on Wednesday, May 29th, around 7:10 A.M. a 1995 Nissan Maxima being driven by Nathan Burrage of a Walker County address was traveling westbound on John Jones Road near Triple J Logging. Burrage fell asleep while driving and the Maxima traveled across the double yellow line and off the left side of the roadway. The Maxima struck a large ditch, coming to an uncontrolled rest in the ditch. Area of impact was off the south side of the roadway, determined by Maxima's final rest. Burrage was injured in the crash and transported by Redmond EMS to Redmond Medical Center in Rome. Burrage was cited for failing to maintain single lane.
