Dalton Police officers arrest man for felony warrants following traffic stop last week

According to arrest reports on Monday, December 9th, 2019, at approximately 406 PM, Dalton Patrol officers were notified by a Dalton detective, that a male subject, Zachary Ray Young, 30, of Dalton had active felony warrants for burglary and felony theft by taking. Detective advised Young would be in the area of the Food City on West Walnut Avenue at approximately 4:00 PM. He said Young would be driving a 2019 black Nissan Versa. Officers sat in the parking lot of the Food City when an officer observed the vehicle driving through the parking lot, in front parking lot. They identified the driver as Zachary. Officers followed the vehicle as it turned onto South Tibbs Road and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Zachary Young was placed into custody and booked into the Whitfield County Jail on warrants for burglary and felony theft by taking. Zackary was also arrested and charged by the Dalton Police Department on Wednesday October 30th with first-degree burglary (forced entry, dwelling), misdemeanor theft by deception and misdemeanor criminal trespass.
