Dalton man facing several felony charges including child molestation

According to a press release from the Dalton Police Department: “On August 27, 2020 at approximately 1245 AM, officers were actively patrolling the East Morris Street area and observed a vehicle emerge from the rear of a closed business.  When officers attempted to get behind the vehicle, they initially observed driving behavior that would lead them to believe the vehicle was attempting to elude them.  Officers were eventually able to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle to investigate and made contact with the driver and passenger.  After an initial investigation, it was learned that the passenger in the vehicle was a juvenile and the driver was Luis Angel Dela Pena, 20 of Dalton.  

Further investigation revealed that the driver and juvenile passenger had been behind the business engaging in sexual activity.“ 

Luis Angel Dela Pena was arrested and charged with:

Loitering and Prowling

Vehicle Equipment Violation

Failure to stop at a stop sign

Fleeing or attempting to elude

Driving without headlights

Child molestation


Enticing a child for indecent purposes
