Dalton man crashes on 282 in Murray County after traveling too fast for the conditions in curve
According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report on Sunday, June, 9th around 10:47 A.M. 2003 Nissan Xterra being driven by Seth Hutchinson 21 of a Dalton Address was traveling westbound on GA 282, east of Dennis Mill Road, negotiating a curve to the left. The driver of Xterra was traveling too fast for the conditions of a wet roadway and lost control of the Xterra. The Xterra began to rotate counterclockwise. The driver over-corrected steering right, causing the Xterra to rotate clockwise and travel off the north shoulder of the roadway. The front of Xterra struck an embankment. After impact, the Xterra overturned, coming to an uncontrolled rest of its top, facing southbound. Area of impact was on the north shoulder of GA 282. Hutchinson stated to the investigating trooper that he came around the curve and hydroplaned. Hutchinson was injured in the crash but was not transported by EMS.
