Dalton attorney arrested for DUI after crashing on I-75 in Gordon County Sunday

According to a Gordon Sheriff's Office incident report, on Sunday, February 23rd, 2020, at approximately 4:58 AM, a deputy with the Gordon County Sheriff's Office Uniform Patrol Division responded to I-75 Northbound mile marker 312 in reference to a single-vehicle crash. The deputy arrived on scene and was advised by Gordon EMS that the driver of the vehicle identified Brian Douglas Wright, 41, of Dalton, smelled like alcohol. The deputy smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Wright. Another deputy asked Wright if he would consent to field sobriety, and Wright refused. The deputy read Wright Implied Consent, and he refused. According to the report, Wright stated that he does not know what happened. He stated that he left Atlanta and was partying and drank alcohol. He also stated that he did not know what kind of alcohol he had to drink. The deputy reported that Wright's 2007 Infinity crashed on the left shoulder facing oncoming traffic, and it had struck the guard rail. Wright was transported to Gordon Hospital and medically cleared. Wright was transported to the Gordon County Jail, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain lane, and duty upon striking fixture. According State Bar of Georgia online records Wright is an Attorney in Dalton where he focuses on business litigation, family law, and personal injury.
