Crandall man killed in head-on crash Monday evening on Highway 411 in Murray County
A Crandall man was killed Monday in a vehicle crash, according to the Georgia State Patrol. According to the Georgia State Patrol report around 5:41 PM a 1994 Ford Ranger being driven by Samuel Lee Miles, 21, of a Crandall address was traveling north on Highway 411 just south of Dewberry Church Road. For reasons unknown, the Ford crossed the center line crashing head-on into an approaching dump truck. Miles was pronounced dead at the scene by coroner. The driver and a passenger in the dump truck suffered minor injuries. A third vehicle struck debris from the wreck, the driver was uninjured. Highway 411 was shutdown for several hours while GSP investigated the crash. According to miles obituary he was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He loved racing motorcycles, his job, his dogs, and, most of all, his Ford diesel truck. Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth is in charge of the arrangements. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Branam, Rev. Donnie Flood, and Samuel's friend, Shane Fenwick, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairy Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
