Convicted felon facing multiple felony charges after police chase ends in a crash Friday in Rome

The chase happened around 5:40P.M. Friday after Rome Police responded to a violent domestic. A female stated her ex Colby Lynn Bevels was attempting to run her over with his Chevy truck in a parking lot. Rome police responded to the area and spotted the truck and Bevels. An officer attempted to stop the truck but Bevels failed to stop. Georgia State Patrol assisted joining in the chase shortly after it began. The pursuit ended shortly after near the Publix Parking lot when Bevels chevy truck struck another vehicle. Colby Lynn Bevels, 27 was taken into custody. Bevels was booked into the Floyd County Jail charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, reckless driving x2, driving while license suspended or revoked felony, speeding in excess of maximum limits x2, driving under influence of alcohol, tires, safety belts, use of required 18 and up, aggressive driving, duty to report accident resulting in injury, death, or property damage. x2, hit and run; duty of driver to stop at or return to scene of accident x2, improper passing on hill/curve, aggressive driving, improper passing, too fast for conditions (basic rules), fleeing or attempting to elude police officer - felony x2, theft by receiving stolen property-felony, possession of methamphetamine, possession and use of drug-related objects, possession of firearm by convicted felon, terroristic threats and acts, aggravated assault x3, and additional hold for Aragon Police Department
