Chickamauga woman arrested for DUI after crashing on Osborn Road in Walker County

According to Georgia State Patrol crash report around 9:15 A.M. 2016 Hyundai Elantra being driven by a Lesia Blackmon, 56 of a Chickamauga address was traveling south on Osborn Road and the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The Elantra left the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole with the front of the Elantra. The Elantra then struck the ditch, crossed a driveway and came to rest facing south off the west side of the roadway. There was no evidence of any evasive action or any evidence of braking. According to the crash report the crash occurred inside the Chickamauga City Limits and Chickamauga Officer Dunn was working the crash. The Chickamauga Police Chief responded to the scene after Officer Dunn had placed the driver under arrest and wanted a Georgia State Patrol Trooper to work the crash. Since the driver was already placed under arrest, Trooper Thomas of LaFayette Post 41 only worked the crash. Blackmon was arrested by CPD and booked into the Walker County Jail on charges of failure to maintain lane and DUI-drugs
