Chickamauga man facing several charges after 'demons' told him to crash last week in Walker County
According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report on Thursday, July 18th around 7:00 A.M. a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven by Sharon Levi 66 of a Chickamauga address was traveling southbound on GA 1 near Swanson Drive in the outside lane. A 2007 Honda Accord being driven by Andrew Dean 39 of a Chickamauga address was traveling northbound on GA 1 in the outside lane. The driver of the Accord drove his vehicle across the northbound inside lane, through the central turning lane, across the southbound inside lane and into the southbound outside lane where he struck the Jeep in the left side. After impact, the Jeep rotated counter-clockwise and began overturning on the west shoulder and ditch. the jeep came to an uncontrolled rest facing northwest on its top. After impact, the Accord rotated counter-clockwise and came to an uncontrolled rest on the west shoulder and ditch facing southeast. The driver of the Accord told the investigating trooper the demon's in his head told him to crash his car. Witnesses were in the same vehicle and corroborated the preceding. Another witness who was behind the Accord and stated the driver just drove across the roadway and struck the Jeep. The driver of the Jeep was injured in the crash and transported by Puckett EMS to Erlanger Medical Center. The driver of the Accord Dean was charged by the Georgia State Patrol with failure to maintain single lane, driving on divided highway, no insurance, seat belt, DUI-driving under the influence, and reckless driving.
