Chattooga County motorcycle crash blamed on following too closely, Trenton man injured

On Monday, May, 27th around 10:30A.M. a 2018 Honda CTX700 being driven by Larry Wheeler 76 of a Trenton, Georgia address was traveling east on GA-48 in Chattooga County behind 2012 Honda CR-V being driven by Jennifer Percic, 35 of a Grennville South Carolina address. Percic was stopped on GA-48 east due to traffic at the stop sign ahead. Wheeler was following too closely and swerved to the right to avoid striking the CR-V in its rear. The left side of the Honda CTX700 struck the passenger side of CR-V. After impact, the Honda CTX700 and the CR-V came to a controlled rest on the north side of GA-48 west of GA-337. Wheeler told the investigating trooper that he was not used to his motorcycle that it was an automatic and it had antilock brakes. He stated that he got confused when he began to brake behind the CR-V and swerved to the right. Wheeler was injured in the crash and suffered minor injuries
