Chattooga County Investigators looking for suspects wanted for stealing truck from Lyerly

Chattooga County Sheriff's Office Investigators are currently needing help identifying suspects who reportedly stole a truck overnight in Lyerly on Highway 114. Deputies responded to a stolen vehicle call around 5:30A.M. and was advised of a single vehicle crash on Highway 114 near the location. No one was in or around the vehicle. Once on scene deputies found a crashed 2013 Toyota pickup truck in the ditch totaled. It was later reported to be stolen out of Soddy Daisy Tennessee. Investigators believe the suspects left the scene and stole a GMC truck from a nearby residence on Highway 114a report was taken and a BOLO issued to the surrounding area. Shortly after 7:00A.M. the stolen GMC was spotted pumping gas at Great Way Food Mart/Gas station on Highway 27 in Pennville by a concerned citizen who happened to know the victims. He saw their post on Facebook about the truck being stolen overnight. The concerned citizen immediately called Chattooga E911 and advised what was happening. After a few minutes the suspects got spooked and took off with the gas pump still in the truck. The concerned citizen followed the truck while deputies responded to the area. The suspects turned onto Penn Bridge Road where they ditched the truck and fled on foot just north of Walker Street in Trion. Another truck a white Chevy Z71 is also said to have been involved and was spotted with the stolen truck and suspects at the gas station.
