Chatsworth woman killed in head-on crash Tuesday night in Whitfield County, two others injured
According to the Georgia State Patrol, on Tuesday May 5th, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a 2005 Toyota 4Runner being driven by Halei Turner age 27 of Chatsworth was traveling east while negotiating a right curve on GA-2. A 2014 Nissan Maxima being driven by Sara Creech, age 31 of Dalton was traveling west while negotiating the same curve. The driver of the Toyota failed to maintain her lane, and hit the front of the Nissan with the front of the Toyota. The Toyota traveled off the roadway onto the right shoulder where it came to an uncontrolled rest facing east. The Nissan came to an uncontrolled rest facing west between the westbound and eastbound lane of GA2. The driver of the Toyota was unrestrained, and she was ejected out of the vehicle. Turner was fatally injured in the crash. Creech was injured and airlifted to Erlanger, her passenger Travis Collins, age 34 of Turner Hill was injured and transported to Erlanger as well. This crash is still under investigation by the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
