Charges pending after Dalton man dies following Sunday morning motorcycle crash in Whitfield County

According to the crash report from the Georgia State Patrol, On Sunday May 19th around 10:40 A.M. Robert "Bobby" Bridges, 38, of Dalton was driving his 2010 Honda Sabre south on Reed Road approaching the intersection of Poplar Springs Road. A 2009 Nissan Versa being driven by Jeffrey Streiff 67 of Dalton was stopped at the stop sign on Poplar Spring Road at Reed Road. The driver of the Streiff failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign and attempted to cross Reed Road. Bridges struck the Versa in the front left side with its front tire. After the impact. The Versa came to a final uncontrolled final rest on Reed Road facing west. The Sabre traveled to the left side of the roadway coming to an uncontrolled final rest on its left side facing south/west. The area of impact was determined by tire marks, marks on the roadway and vehicle debris and fluids. Bridges was transported by LifeForce to Erlanger where he later passed away that night at Erlanger Medical Center. The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) will conduct a forensic reconstruction of the collision. All criminal charges will be taken out by the SCRT team, pending investigation.
